Two of Diageo’s key global executives are to take on new responsibilities within the alcohol giant.
After four years as Diageo India managing director and CEO of USL, Hina Nagarajan is to take on the role of president of the Africa business. Prior to her successful period leading Diageo India, Nagarajan’s first role in Diageo from 2018 onwards was as managing director of Africa Emerging Markets.
Praveen Someshwar will be the next CEO of Diageo India, effective April 1. He was appointed as CEO-designate in January.
Dayalan Nayager, president of Diageo Africa since July 2022, will become president of Diageo Europe, taking over from John Kennedy, who has been acting as president on an interim basis since January 2024. Kennedy had previously departed Diageo in December 2022 after a near 30-year stint at the Johnnie Walker maker.
Nayager will retain his Diageo-wide responsibilities as chief commercial officer. Over the past 12 years, Nayager had “led several Diageo businesses in Europe, including Great Britain, Ireland and France, and also ran Diageo’s Global Travel retail business,” a statement from Diageo said.
Both Nagarajan and Nayager will take up their new roles on 1 April.
