Dream Sports’ head of strategy, Raj Rathi, joins Citigroup as M&A head

GLOBAL BANKING MAJOR, Citigroup (Citi), has appointed Raj Rathi, formerly of Dream Sports, as its Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) for India, marking a significant senior-level hire as the bank strengthens its investment banking franchise in one of its fastest-growing markets.

Rathi is expected to join in June 2026 and will be based in Mumbai, reporting into Citi’s India investment banking leadership, a Bloomberg report said.. In addition to leading M&A, Rathi will oversee coverage across digital infrastructure, electronic manufacturing services (EMS), and select business-to-business (B2B) sectors. Rathi is a seasoned investment banker with over 15 years of experience across global financial institutions and technology-focused dealmaking.

As Head of Strategy & Corporate Development at Dream Sports (parent company of Dream11) he spent around four years driving strategic investments and corporate growth initiatives.
