‘Dreamers’ showcases the journey of boxing champion Mandeep Jangra

DREAMERS, the celebrated storytelling series conceptualized and narrated by filmmaker–storyteller Sudhanshu Rai, has released a powerful new episode spotlighting the remarkable life of India’s boxing icon Mandeep Jangra. The episode is now available to stream across Rai’s official platforms.

Rai captures Jangra’s journey from a small-town boy in Haryana to an internationally recognised champion. Born prematurely and raised by his grandmother, whose modest savings bought him his first boxing kit, Jangra’s humble beginnings laid the foundation for an extraordinary career.

The episode delves into the raw, unfiltered struggles of his early years: training on little more than biscuits and milk, fighting through injuries including a fractured hand, and persevering despite a lack of proper diet or facilities. His grit and perseverance led him to landmark achievements: a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the honour of being the only Indian boxer to win a World Boxing Federation World Title, and the prestigious Arjuna Award.

Today, Jangra continues to compete with the same passion while also giving back to the community through a trust he established in his village, supporting underprivileged children who aspire to pursue boxing but lack resources.

Rai said, “Dreamers is not just about victories; it is about the fight behind the fight. Mandeep Jangra’s journey is a testament to resilience, sacrifice, and belief. His story will inspire anyone who has ever dared to dream against the odds.”
