Eurosport India inks 3-yr deal with BAI to b’cast Yonex Sunrise India Open

EUROSPORT INDIA, the sports channel of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), has entered into a three-year broadcast partnership with the Badminton Association of India (BAI) for the Yonex Sunrise India Open.

The agreement covers the 2026, 2027 and 2028 editions of the tournament and marks a shift from the earlier annual broadcast arrangements to a long-term collaboration focused on continuity, growth and enhanced fan engagement.

The India Open 2026 will be televised live on Eurosport following the new partnership between BAI and the global sports broadcaster, extending the tournament’s reach to badminton fans across the country.

The 24th edition of the Super 750 event will be held from 13 to 18 January at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. The tournament will feature a strong international field alongside India’s leading shuttlers, and its move to a larger venue reflects its growing popularity and rising profile on the BWF World Tour.

As part of the agreement, Eurosport will provide live coverage from the Centre Court, as well as selected matches from other courts, across all six days of competition. The broadcaster will also air a slate of supplementary programming, including highlights packages, player interviews and curated features on Eurosport and Eurosport HD.

A long-standing fixture on the BWF World Tour, the Yonex-Sunrise India Open holds Super 750 status, offering players up to 11,000 ranking points and a total prize purse of $950,000.

BAI general secretary Sanjay Mishra said, “The Yonex-Sunrise India Open has grown steadily over the years, both in terms of competition and audience interest. Partnering with Eurosport allows us to take the tournament to a wider television audience and ensure fans across the country can follow the action closely. This collaboration reflects the growing appetite for badminton in India and our commitment to making the sport more accessible.”
