FIT INDIA, a program of the Union Sports Ministry, has teamed up with Pune-based movement, Simple Steps Fitness for Dawn2Dusk, a 64-day nationwide campaign led by ultra-runner and Fit India influencer Ashish Kasodekar.
The initiative began on 24 November in the Dong Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, the first place in India to witness sunrise, and will conclude on Republic Day 2026 at Guhar Moti in Gujarat, the country’s westernmost sunset point, according to a press release issued by SAI Media.
This collaboration aims to strengthen the Fit India mission by promoting fitness as a way of life, encouraging tree plantation and environmental awareness, fostering community participation, and inspiring a long-term culture of health, movement, and mindfulness.
Kasodekar, known for his Guinness World Record of running 60 marathons in 60 days and the gruelling 555-km La Ultra challenge, is covering multiple states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Dawn2Dusk builds on the momentum of his 2023 Low2High campaign, which motivated lakhs of people to collectively record 76 lakh km of physical activity in 76 days.
Over the 64-day journey, the movement also aims to plant 76,000 trees in partnership with the Grow Tree Foundation and collectively log 7,60,000 km of running and walking, with citizens across India participating from their own locations.
