NEW DELHI: Football Delhi is all set to kick off its inuagural Delhi Futsal League Tuesday.
Eight teams are in the fray contesting matches that will be played at Indra Gandhi Indoor Stadium between 7pm to 9 Pm. The league finals will be played on 29th.
Football Delhi president Shaji Prabhakaran said that Delhi is the first state of the country to host Futsal League. “Futsal is very popular in all football playing nations and it will help in grooming the talent at the grassroot level,” Prabhakaran said.
The eight teams participating in the Futsal League are Royal Green FC, Valor FC, Roar FC, Pole Star FC, Signature FC, Vista FC, Timarpur FC and All Star FC.
A total of 120 players are registered across the eight teams.
Bankim Dutta, chairman of the Futsal Committee, said: “Football Delhi wants to make this event historic. With this futsal League a new culture will develop in the field of football in Delhi.”
