Gaming platform Dangal Games raises $1m Series A funding

NEW DELHI: Indian online skill-based gaming platform Dangal Games has announced a Series A fund raise of $1 million (Rs 7.3m) from a strategic investor.

The platform, run by Xeta Gaming Pvt Ltd, did not disclose the identity of said investor.

Since its inception, Dangal Games (founded by – Varun Mahna, Varun Puri, Shashwat Jain, Karan Gandhi & Manan Sobti) has put out ‘PokerDangal’ and (in the last quarter) ‘RummyDangal’.

With a user base of over 500,000, the brand is all geared up to utilize the funds and expand its business to the newer products. The consolidated aim is to become a leading player in the skill based online gaming sector.

The company also plans to add ‘fantasy games’ to their bandwagon before the arrival of IPL 2021, for which there is a big market in India. The company will also be launching its casual gaming vertical in the next quarter.

Varun Mahna, founder & CEO – Dangal Games, commented: “The fund would be used to diversify the product portfolio and build the tech capabilities of the business. The online gaming industry in India is surging like never before. After the pandemic, our whole platform endured an inclining power shot in acquisition and user-time spent. We also want to utilize the funds to grow the gaming ecosystem in the country and enable more gaming tech start-ups with investments.”

As per Mahna, the focus on responsible gaming is unmatched at Dangal Games and keeping the users first has always been the top-most priority.
