INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2026 mini auction is currently underway in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with several high-profile deals already grabbing attention. The standout moment of the auction saw Australia all-rounder Cameron Green become the highest-paid overseas player in IPL history after being signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 25.20 crore.
KKR further strengthened their squad by securing Sri Lanka fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana for Rs 18 crore.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made bold moves by investing in two uncapped Indian players, Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, signing both for Rs 14.20 crore each. The bids mark the highest price ever paid for players without international experience.
Delhi Capitals added pace depth by picking up Jammu and Kashmir seamer Auqib Nabi Dhar for Rs 8.40 crore. Notably, Auqib Nabi entered the auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh, making his signing one of the biggest value jumps of the day.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer experienced a significant pay cut, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) acquired the all-rounder for Rs 7 crore. Iyer had previously fetched Rs 23.75 crore at last year’s mega auction, representing a reduction of over 70 per cent.
