TENNIS PREMIER LEAGUE (TPL) Season 7 came to a close on Sunday at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium, with GS Delhi Aces emerging champions after a commanding performance to secure their maiden title.
The grand finale saw GS Delhi Aces face off against Yash Mumbai Eagles in a high-intensity contest. Proceedings began with the Women’s Singles, where Sofia Costoulas took on Riya Bhatia. Continuing her impressive run, Costoulas delivered a dominant display, registering an emphatic 18–7 victory to remain unbeaten in the singles category.
The Delhi side carried that momentum into the Mixed Doubles, as Costoulas teamed up with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan against Bhatia and Niki Poonacha. Displaying sharp returns and assured net play, the GS Delhi Aces pair controlled the encounter from the start, clinching a 16–9 win to further strengthen their position in the tie.
In the Men’s Singles, 30-year-old Billy Harris faced Damir Dzumhur. The World No. 57 showcased his class with a solid performance, securing a 16–9 victory. Despite the setback, GS Delhi Aces retained a comfortable 11-point advantage heading into the final match.
The contest concluded with the Men’s Doubles, where Harris and Nedunchezhiyan took on Poonacha and Dzumhur. The Delhi duo remained composed under pressure, closing out the match with an 8–4 win to seal a comprehensive 51–36 overall triumph.
Marking a dream debut, GS Delhi Aces capped off their first-ever TPL campaign by lifting the Season 7 title, underlining their dominance throughout the tournament and the final.
