Hero Challenge extends European tour commitment till 2021

NEW DELHI: Hero Challenge, the Hero Motorcorp-sponsored innovative one-hole knockout golf contest once again preceded the British Masters 2018 on Tuesday in London. The competition presented an electrifying setting where the players shot from a floating tee into a constructed green, surrounded by London’s tallest buildings. Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston beat Paul Dunne in the final.

But in what is bigger news for golf fans not just in Europe but in India as well, the Hero Challenge will be contested for the next three years at two other marquee events of the European Tour namely Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open and DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

Discovery branded sports channel DSport holds the broadcast rights for the same.

Hero Motorcorp CEO and MD, Pawan Munjal said: “The Hero Challenge has grown to be an integral part of the European Tour in a short span of time. The innovative contest made its debut on this prestigious platform in 2016 and since then it has steadily attracted more followers and audiences to the sport. With the live telecast this season in India, the Hero Challenge will appeal to a new set of young fans in our country as well.”
