HSBC extends Asia’s Major partnership

WITH THE 18TH EDITION of the HSBC Women’s World Championship set to be staged at Sentosa Golf Club from 26 February to 1 March, HSBC has reaffirmed its long-standing support for the event by renewing its title partnership with IMG through to 2030.

Branded as ‘Asia’s Major’, the tournament has become one of the most prestigious stops on the LPGA Tour, with HSBC now recognised as one of the longest-serving sponsors in women’s professional golf.

HSBC has worked closely with the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) over the years to grow participation in the sport at all levels. This includes a strong focus on developing local talent through initiatives such as the HSBC Youth Golf Challenge (HYGC), delivered in partnership with the SGA.

HSBC has been the title sponsor of the Women’s World Championship since its launch in 2008 and recently extended the agreement for a further five years. The renewed deal has seen the prize purse increase to US$3 million and the field expand to 72 players. The most recent edition featured golfers from 22 nationalities, including 19 major champions and nine of the world’s top ten ranked players.

The 72-hole stroke play tournament will once again be contested on the acclaimed Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, which will host the championship for the 12th time.

A strong line-up of partners has already been confirmed for the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship, including Sentosa, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Marina Bay Sands, Lexus, Nunchi Marine, Singapore Airlines, Rolex, Hilton Singapore, AON, Epson, Puma, COBRA Golf, ECCO, Sony, Sunbird Brewing Company, Loch Lomond Whisky, Titleist, Bluewater, Tanglin Gin and Yeo’s.

HSBC Singapore CEO Kee Joo Wong said, “It’s incredibly exciting to see Singaporean golf making its mark on the world stage, especially with two of our own talents competing in the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Their achievements show just how much skill and passion is being developed right here in Singapore. At HSBC, we’re proud to help open doors for women in sport and play a part in supporting the development of golf locally. We can’t wait to welcome fans from all over the globe to Sentosa Golf Club next month and celebrate another unforgettable chapter of ‘Asia’s Major’ together.”
