THE INTERNATIONAL BOXING Association announced on Friday an agreement with the combat sports promoter Nomad Fighting to stage a hybrid fight night – IBA NOMAD 14 – on 11 April at the Almaty Arena in Kazakhstan, bringing “together spectacle, boxing and mixed martial arts”.
By partnering for this specific event, IBA aims to bring its international prestige and access to global stars to a platform that already commands a staggering digital presence. Recent data shows a single Nomad tournament can generate 10 million broadcast views and over 600 million social media views.
For four years, Nomad Fighting has been developing a high-octane “show” format that merges the intensity of MMA with the technical foundations of boxing. Having successfully executed 13 tournaments to date, the promotion has built a massive, loyal following across the CIS region.
The partnership will culminate on April 11 at the Almaty Arena in Kazakhstan. This event is set to be a strategic breakthrough, providing fans with a world-class experience that combines elite athleticism with a large-scale sporting spectacle.
IBA secretary general & CEO Chris Roberts said: “Our partnership with Nomad Fighting represents exactly the kind of bold, forward-looking collaboration the IBA is committed to. Nomad has built an impressive platform with huge audience engagement, and by joining forces for IBA NOMAD 14, we are creating a unique product that bridges traditional boxing values with new-generation combat sports entertainment. This event in Almaty will not only showcase elite athletes but also demonstrate how boxing can evolve and expand its global reach through innovative formats”.
Nomad Fighting co-founder Nurdavlat Nishankulov noted: “The April 11 event in Almaty under the IBA NOMAD banner marks an important milestone for combat sports in Kazakhstan. Over the past four years, Nomad Fighting has built a truly loyal audience and a strong reputation despite the challenges we faced. This partnership with the IBA opens new opportunities for international growth, higher standards, and larger-scale events. We know exactly the level we need to deliver — and very soon, fans will see it in action”.
