AFGHANISTAN’S MEN’S CRICKET TEAM is set to host India in a bilateral series for the first time, with a three-match T20I series tentatively scheduled for September 2026. All matches are expected to be held in India.
An official announcement is pending, though sources indicate the BCCI and Afghanistan Cricket Board have reached an agreement with only formalities remaining, a news report in The Times of India said.
The series is expected to take place at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sep 13, 16 and 19 and will serve as preparation ahead of the Asian Games. Due to ongoing geopolitical challenges, Afghanistan has been unable to host international cricket at home and has used India and the UAE as neutral venues.
Afghanistan is also scheduled to tour India this month for a one-off Test at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur from June 6-10, followed by three ODIs in Dharamsala (June 13), Lucknow (June 17), and Chennai (June 20).
