INDIA IS SET for a high-profile Davis Cup test as they face the Netherlands in the Round 1 Qualifiers, with the two-day tie scheduled for 7 and 8 February. The encounter will begin with two singles matches on the opening day, followed by the doubles fixture and reverse singles on day two.
Building anticipation ahead of the contest, the official draw ceremony will be held on 6 February. Tickets for the tie are now available and can be purchased via Ticketgenie.
India go into the fixture ranked No. 33 in the world and will be up against a strong Netherlands side, currently ranked No. 4 and runners-up at the 2024 Davis Cup. India’s singles challenge will be spearheaded by Sumit Nagal, with Dhakshineswar Suresh and Karan Singh also in contention, while Yuki Bhambri and Rithvik Bollipalli are set to lead the doubles effort. The Indian team will be captained by Rohit Rajpal, with Ashutosh Singh serving as coach.
The Netherlands team, meanwhile, is expected to field Jesper de Jong and Guy den Ouden in singles, supported by the seasoned doubles combination of David Pel and Sander Arends. The side will be led by former player Paul Haarhuis as captain.
