Integrated sports centre YUCP ArenaX launched in Amaravati

YUCP ArenaX, a ₹36-crore Integrated Sports Development Centre has been launched in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, to provide a 360-degree ecosystem for athlete development, including international-standard sports infrastructure for elite training, residential facilities, medical care, and a dedicated athlete incubation fund.

Spanning six acres, this next-generation campus is designed as a full-spectrum athlete ecosystem to bridge the gap between raw athletic potential and international competitive readiness, a media release said.

The facility is a collaborative venture between investor Umesh Padala, who holds an 80% equity stake, and Yusuf Bin Shaik, an elite athlete who serves as co-Founder and operations partner. YUCP ArenaX is anchored by the conviction that India’s grassroots talent requires professional-grade infrastructure to succeed on the global stage, the release added.

Umesh Padala, lead investor and Strategic Director of YUCP ArenaX, said: “India possesses an incredible wealth of raw talent at the grassroots level and across our Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. However, we often see this potential fall short of the Olympic medal tally due to a critical lack of world-class infrastructure and specialized coaching in these regions. YUCP ArenaX was built to change that narrative. Our facility is a deliberate investment in the athletic future of our country, aiming to provide the foundation that will contribute significantly to India’s Olympic dream in the years to come.”

Beyond the initial capital investment, Umesh Padala has committed an additional ₹5 crores to establish the Athlete Sponsorship Incubation Centre. This dedicated fund will identify high-performing athletes across Andhra Pradesh, providing them with the financial sponsorship, mentorship, and resources necessary to compete at national and international levels, the release said.

The Amaravati campus features international-standard facilities, including:

  • High-Performance Training Gym: A 12,000 sq. ft. facility with equipment imported from the United States, calibrated for elite performance.
  • Olympic-Standard Aquatic Center: A 50m × 36m swimming pool built to FINA specifications.
  • Multi-Sport Indoor Courts: FIBA-regulation basketball courts, BWF-compliant badminton courts, and international-standard pickleball courts.
  • Residential Capacity: On-campus dormitories for 120 athletes, split equally between male and female residents.
  • Comprehensive Care: A 10-bed sports injury and recovery center, a 25-person sauna, and a dedicated nutritional cafe seating 60.

Yusuf Bin Shaik, Co-Founder and Amateur Olympian Medalist, added: “Having competed at the highest levels, I understand the precise environment an athlete needs to thrive. At YUCP ArenaX, we have integrated elite training philosophies with comprehensive recovery and nutritional support. We aren’t just building a gym; we are building an institution that manages every aspect of an athlete’s journey, ensuring they are physically and mentally prepared for the world stage.”
