IPL 2018: Star locks in 3 co-presenting, 7 associate sponsors

MUMBAI: Indian Premier League 2018 host broadcaster Star India has thus far signed on 34 brands ahead of next month’s IPL.

While the co presenting sponsors are Vivo, Coca Cola and Reliance Jio, associate sponsors are Polycab, Parle Products, AMFI, Make My Trip, Vimal Pan Masala, Asian Paints, and Dream 11.

Some of the advertisers new to IPL include Jio, Domino’s, Ford, Haier, Voltas, Luminous, Ceat Tyres, AMFI, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Blue Star, Crompton, Dollar, Pidilite, Sleep Well, Vanessa, and Vimal Pan Masala. 

Other brands that have joined include Colgate, Amul, Elica, Kent, MakeMyTrip, Parle Agro, Parle Products, Polycab and Vu TV, to take the roster of brands on Vivo IPL 2018 on the Star Network to 34.

While the rates at which these deals could not be ascertained at the time this report was uploaded, sources in the media buying fraternity have confirmed to SportzPower that Star had initially gone to market asking for Rs 1.5 billion for a co-presenting partner position and Rs 700 million for associate sponsor. 

By leveraging the combined reach of digital and television the tournament will be broadcast, for the first time ever, on multiple TV channels and live streamed on Hotstar, Star has set itself an aim to reach out to 700 million fans across TV and digital in India.
