MUMBAI: The BCCI has opened bidding for the rights to provide stadium branding services for the next two seasons of the Indian Premier League (2019-2020), with the option to extend it by one more year to IPL 2021, “at the discretion of” the Indian cricket board.
The deadline for submission is 11 am IST on February 21.
Requisite Experience
Interested bidders have to show:
(a) extensive and relevant experience in providing services which are the same as or similar to the Services on an India wide basis;
(b) a strong financial background;
(c) sufficient human and other resources to provide the services;
(d) sufficient contacts, expertise and resources in order to provide the services generally and at each Stadium during the Term; and
(e) references satisfactory to BCCI from entities for which bidder has supplied similar services.
In its tender document, the BCCI also made clear that the bidder offering “the most attractive financial terms” was not guaranteed of winning the contract.
Guarantees
The successful bidder will have to provide an “irrevocable and unconditional bank guarantee for an amount equivalent to 30% of the contract value for each season on a rolling basis such that the 30% of the contract value payable to the company for each season is guaranteed fully and without any interruption”.
