IPL brand value up by 13% to $12 billion in 2024: Study

The brand value of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has surged by 13% to $12 billion in 2024, per the 17th Brand Finance IPL 2024 assessment report. 

From a $2bn valuation in 2009, the IPL breached $10 billion for the first time in 2023, reaching $10.7bn.

Brand Finance further reported that four teams – Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – have exceeded $100 million in brand value for the first time.

Ajimon Francis, managing director of Brand Finance India, emphasizes the IPL’s effective business model and match organization as key factors in its global appeal. The league has become a significant player in sports commerce, influencing markets beyond India.
