ISPL season 3 heads to Surat, adds new teams, bigger rewards

INDIAN STREET PREMIER LEAGUE (ISPL), India’s tennis-ball T10 tournament, is back for its third edition, scheduled to run in Surat from 9 January to 6 February 2026. This season, the league will feature eight teams and promises more entertainment, with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) walking away with a brand-new Porsche 911.

The announcements were made at a press conference attended by ISPL core committee members Sachin Tendulkar, Ashish Shelar, Minal Amol Kale, League commissioner Suraj Samat, League operations president Dipak Chauhan; alongside Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, the owner of the new Ahmedabad team.

Season 3 sees the ISPL expanding with two new franchises—Ahmedabad and Delhi—backed by Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan respectively.

The player trials for Season 3 will begin on 5 October across 101 cities, while Shelar revealed that Season 4 will introduce a Zonal Institution and Selection Tournament—a structured, region-based scouting programme aimed at building a sustainable talent pipeline.

The league also unveiled its official documentary, ‘Rise of ISPL’, capturing its journey from street cricket to stadium cricket. Meanwhile, the team purse has been increased by 50% to Rs 1.5 crore.

Tendulkar said, “The first two seasons of ISPL were magnificent. When I heard Ashish ji say 18 lakh registrations were there, this year, it is 44 lakhs, so the number speaks for itself. There is so much enthusiasm and excitement all over the country, and a clear-cut indication of the kind of response we have received in the first two seasons. I would like to welcome two new teams as well… Next season, we will be playing in Surat…”

Shelar added, “I see ISPL as a transformative initiative. It is helping shape the future of cricket by giving talent a platform to rise. A new venue for the league also reflects our commitment to growing the game beyond traditional centres and taking it to regions where the passion for cricket runs deep. The Zonal Institutional Model we are introducing is a forward-looking step. It will build a strong, structured system for identifying and developing talent at the grassroots level, not just for ISPL, but for Indian cricket as a whole.”
