Jhulan Goswami inducted to MCC World Cricket Committee

Indian women’s national team legend Jhulam Goswami has been named among the latest honorary member inductees to the MCC World Cricket Committee, along with fellow woman cricketer Heather Knight and Eoin Morgan.

MCC Committee chairman Mike Gatting stated: “We are thrilled to welcome Jhulan, Heather and Eoin to the World Cricket committee. These are three players who have excelled at the very top of the international game and their knowledge of how the elite level of cricket works will be an advantage to the committee… it is also important that we are growing the female representation on the committee with the growth that women’s cricket has enjoyed in recent years.”

Jhulan played for the Indian national team at all formats for 20 long years, and has been the best bowler in the world in ICC women’s rankings during her day. She also won the award of ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2007.

The Indian government has honoured her with the Padma Shri as well as the Arjuna Award.
