KANTIPUR MAX WILL broadcast the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the second consecutive year, extending the tournament’s reach to television audiences across Nepal.
While Xtreme Energy Drinks has signed on as thetitle sponsor; Laminar Tiles and Mangalam Pipes are other sponsors who have come on board.
The season opener will feature defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Kantipur Media Group (KMG) confirmed that all matches, along with pre-match programming, will be aired on Kantipur Max HD 1 and HD 2.
Speaking at a press event on Tuesday, Mahesh Swar, Chief Executive Officer of KMG, reiterated the network’s ambition to bring marquee global sporting events to Nepal. “Our goal remains to bring major global sporting events to Nepal. We are already showcasing premier sports through Kantipur Max,” he said.
Unlike some recent tournaments that featured Nepali-language commentary, the IPL broadcast will be delivered in English.
