MUMBAI: The challenge of an India unfriendly time zone, added to the fact that New Zealand’s cricket is of little interest to the average Indian viewer (and by extension television broadcasters), has led to the BCCI declining to play away Tests against the Kiwis.
The Tests in New Zealand start at 3.30 a.m., which is not appropriate for fans in India to follow the match, a report in newspaper DNA said.
However, the Kiwis will play five ODIs and five T20 Internationals when they visit India from mid-January to mid February next year, the report added.
