ARGENTINA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, led by football star Lionel Messi, is expected to play a friendly match against Australia in Kochi during their visit to Kerala in November, official sources from the Sports Department told PTI.
While the exact date has not been finalised, the fixture is likely to be scheduled between 12 and 18 November, when the reigning 2022 FIFA World Cup champions are in Kerala, the sources added.
The news comes after weeks of speculation and confusion surrounding Argentina’s visit. In early August, reports suggested that Messi and his team would not be travelling to the state. However, by the end of the month, Kerala’s Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman confirmed that the squad would indeed arrive in November.
