MotoGP: TISSOT announced as title sponsor for Aragon GP

MADRID: MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports announced Tuesday that TISSOT, Official Timekeeper of the FIM MotoGP World Championship, will be the title sponsor of the Grand Prix of Aragon this season.

The event, to be held at the emblematic MotorLand Aragon in Spain, takes place from the 10th to the 12th of September and will be named the Gran Premio TISSOT de Aragón.

Founded in 1853, Swiss luxury watchmaker TISSOT became Official Timekeeper of MotoGP in 2001 and in the two decades since has remained an invaluable partner of the sport. Their expertise has become more and more vital as the timesheets tighten in an incredibly competitive era for motorcycle Grand Prix racing, with hundredths and thousandths of a second deciding the podium or victory.

In addition, TISSOT creates stunning timepiece and watch collections as part of this longstanding collaboration.

The Gran Premio TISSOT de Aragón is the third event in the past two seasons that sees the Swiss luxury watchmaker take top billing at a Grand Prix, celebrating 20 years of collaboration in style. That’s in addition to a trackside presence throughout the calendar, ensuring the TISSOT name remains one of the most recognisable in the paddock.

Sylvain Dolla, CEO of TISSOT, noted: “Tissot is proud to be the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP, and we are looking forward to another exciting race during the Tissot Grand Prix of Aragon.”

Marc Saurina, senior director of Global Commercial Partnerships at Dorna Sports, added: “We’re honoured to announce TISSOT as the title sponsor for a second Grand Prix this season, and to add another important agreement to our longstanding collaboration. TISSOT are a pivotal presence in the paddock as the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP, and as our partnership celebrates 20 years it makes us proud to see it continue to go from strength to strength.”
