MUMBAI: Gulf Oil Lubricants has taken up a new initiative called ‘Guardian on Road’, making it nationwide by shooting a promo featuring Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya, Exchange4Media reports. The duo are the company’s brand ambassadors and this is an extension of their association with it.
In the promo, they can be seen urging parents and elder guardians to pledge making their wards or children wear helmets compulsorily while travelling on two-wheeler vehicles. Besides media platforms, Gulf Oil along with Dhoni have begun promoting the campaign by planning to distribute 15000+ ISI certified helmets to children which are 540 mm in size and for 8-13 year olds.
The cricketer’s IPL hometown, Chennai has already been covered in this regard. Spanning across two weeks, he will travel to top cities such as Mumbai, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Vadodara, Ranchi and Dehradun.
Gulf Oil MD Ravi Chawla said: “Children are our nation’s future. Hence, inculcating road safety habits within children at an early age is crucial to ensure their wellbeing and make them responsible citizens of future India. As a responsible brand, we have decided to distribute 15000 of these specially designed helmets to children. We urge parents to follow the basic road safety rule of not allowing their children to ride on two-wheelers without wearing a helmet.”
Gulf Oil will also launch a pledge page on their website where people can take a safety pledge online and spread the awareness amongst their family members, friends and dear ones.
