Nike, Sisters in Sweat partner to boost women’s sports participation

SISTERS IN SWEAT (SIS), a women-only sports and wellness community in India, has entered into a multi-year partnership with Nike to expand opportunities for women to engage in sport and movement.

As part of the collaboration, Nike will support SIS’s upcoming initiatives across multiple cities by providing footwear, apparel, and access to sport expertise. The partnership will kick off with a multi-city football tournament, aimed at increasing women’s participation in sport.

Earlier this year, Nike concluded its After Dark Tour in Mumbai on 10 May — a women’s running event that drew over 3,000 participants — reinforcing the brand’s commitment to women in sport, a mission closely aligned with that of SIS.

SIS co-founder and long-time Nike ambassador Swetha Subbiah said talking about this partnership, “This partnership feels like a full-circle moment. I’ve been a Nike trainer for over a decade, and to now build something this meaningful with them, something that reaches thousands of women across India, is incredibly special. We’re building a powerful, active community of women who are taking ownership of their space in sport.”

Nike India general manager Tarundeep Singh said, “Sisters in Sweat is a shining example of the power of women coming together through sport. At Nike, we’re committed to fuelling continued movement, joy and community for women across India, and we are proud to partner with Sisters in Sweat to help make that vision real, and move the world forward through the power of sport.”
