LONDON: Perform Group, the digital leader in global sports media, has announced that it will build on the existing Perform Sports Cloud infrastructure in partnership with pan-African broadcaster, Kwesé TV, to enhance and increase live content delivery, through the broadcaster, to millions of fans across Africa.
Perform will also be responsible for the delivery of all FIFA World Cup matches across Kwese channels, with production services, including multi-language commentary, to be broadcast live across Kwese sub-licensee channels.
Content in this new sports cloud delivery includes notable events in the sporting calendar, such as the IAAF World U20 championships, FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup, Ligue 1 and UEFA’s Nations League.
Perform is Kwesé’s primary sports content distribution partner and since their appointment in late 2016, they have delivered over 3,500 events and 12,000 hours of live video content over IP. The increased capacity commitment will allow Kwesé to continue to grow their subscription base and distribute content across their extensive sports rights portfolio, consolidating their position in a highly competitive African market.
Perform has worked closely with Kwesé since launch. This capacity increase further illustrates the strength of the integral partnership between the two companies, most recently demonstrated with PSC providing over 1,100 hrs of Winter Olympics 2018 coverage.
