PKL player auction to be held from 8-9 April in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will be holding the player auction for its seventh season in the city from 8-9 April this year. The league has confirmed that it is set to return to its previous start month of July for the coming season as well as the succeeding one in 2020.

“The auction dates will be April 8 and 9 and it will take place in Mumbai. And just to go on record, we will do (conduct) Season 8, 2020, starting in July (next year). It will help everybody,” PKL commissioner Anupam Goswami said in a media interaction on Thursday.

PKL Season 7 will start on 19 July and its schedule will be announced later.

Goswami also declared that the details for retention of players will be revealed next week and that the Abhishek Bachchan-owned Jaipur Pink Panthers will return to Jaipur this year for all its home matches.

“From the start, our ambition was to grow kabaddi as a sport and the league and we have done it,” he concluded.
