IMPHAL, Manipur: In view of the proposed visit by Narendra Modi to Manipur next month and the state government’s plan to get the district sports complexes inaugurated by the Prime Minister, the chief secretary has instructed the officials concerned to finish the construction work of the district sports complexes by March 10.
The projects which would be completed for inauguration by the Prime Minister are those taken up under NLCPR, SPA and Khelo India, Manipur daily Sangai Express reports.
Meanwhile, the Union government has given its consent for the state to host women’s wrestling, boxing and hockey competitions under the Khelo India programme.
The schedule for these competitions would be fixed by the state sports department in consultation with sports associations/federations, Sangai Express further reports.
