PUMA adds Indian footballer Samad to ambassador roster

MUMBAI: PUMA has announced the signing of India international midfielder Sahal Abdul Samad as a global brand ambassador.

The Kerala Blasters playmaker joins India captain Sunil Chhetri and goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu as the Indian footballers representing the German sportswear major. 

PUMA’s “main man” in India is of course Team India cricket captain Virat Kohli. KL rahul is the other cricketer who endorses the brand.  

Baljit Rihal, CEO of Inventive Sports, the agency that represents Sahal, told Germany based football expert and consultant Arunava Chaudhuri: “To be in the company of iconic athletes such as Virat Kohli, Sunil Chhetri and (India’s boxing queen) Mary Kom really does speak volumes about Sahal’s engagement with PUMA. Of course it’s one of the worlds largest sports brands and we as his agency are confident that this association will elevate Sahal to even greater heights, not just in India but on a global scale.”
