MUMBAI: Indian television actor and host Rannvijay Singh, who is also known for his passion for basketball and frequent appearances on NBA India programmes and shows, has invested Rs 10 million in Gurugram-based sports management company ‘IT Magia’, Economic Times reports.
As a result, Singh becomes a 10% shareholder in the firm founded by the duo of Hemant Sharma and Arpit Gupta, which was launched in 2012.
IT Magia’s primary role is to provide strategic consulting to its clients and broker potential alliances for them by creating new business opportunities in sport. By marking their business plans, it forms new sports IPs for them.
One of its most renowned projects at present is the ‘adidas Creators Premier League’, which provides a platform for young and semi-professional footballers to showcase their talent.
IT Magia’s association with adidas has also resulted in the former organising the annual ‘FC Bayern Youth Cup’ football competition since 2013, reaching out to 2000 children in schools across six cities in India. This is a joint initiative by adidas and FC Bayern Munich, presented by Qatar Airways.
Working closely with over 150 top business houses in the country such as Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Red Bull, Huawei and Budweiser, IT Magia has also organised events such as the Legends Cup, Champions Cup, adidas Uprising Delhi, Budweiser Cup 6V6, Google World Cup and the CII Soccer Fest.
Sharma was quoted as saying to ET on the new partnership with Singh: “We’re elated to bring in Rannvijay as our business partner.
