INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2025 champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) returned to social media after 84 days of silence following the stampede during their victory parade on 4 June. Their first post shared details about RCB Cares and how the initiative came to life.
RCB had remained inactive since 5 June, when they released a statement addressing the tragedy and announced the creation of the RCB Cares fund to support fans injured in the incident.
In their latest message, the franchise wrote, “The Silence wasn’t Absence. It was Grief.” They added that more details about the platform will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, initially slated to host an AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifier, has been ruled unfit after an inspection by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), which raised concerns over the pitch and other conditions. “The pitch is not in good condition, and a lot of other factors are also not favourable to host an international match,” a senior official told TOI. Separately, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has also been dropped as a venue for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup.
