MUMBAI: Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals, which returns to the IPL after a two-year ban, is NOT looking to dilute stake, co-promoter Manoj Badale has confirmed to Economic Times.
“We are 100 per cent focused on building the team, creating value. Yes, there are regular inbound enquiries from prospective investors, and that hasn’t changed since 2009. But our focus has to be on effectively participating this year,” Badale, who also hopes to break even this year as the team’s share in the central revenue will grow manifold, courtesy the new Rs163.475 billion five-year media rights deal between IPL and Star India, told ET.

Badale’s statement appears to indicate that the extensive talks these past months between the promoters of Rajasthan Royals and the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, which ran the Pune franchise of the IPL for two years before being disbanded, could well have finally broken down on the sticky point of valuation. Or so SportzPower surmises.
