MUMBAI: All nine candidates to the RWITC managing committee were declared elected unopposed after the club’s deadline to file nominations got over Monday evening, Mumbai Mirror reports.
The results for the elections were to be declared at the 105th AGM, which was to be held through video conferencing on Tuesday after a month’s delay.
Zavaray Poonawalla heads the committee for the second year in succession. Shivlal Daga and Ashwin Mehta, who were to retire on rotational basis from the Board of Appeal after their two-year term, were also elected unopposed.
The other members of the RWITC’s managing committee are Khushroo Dhunjibhoy, Vijay Shirke, Zinia Lawyer, Surendra Sanas, Milan Luthria, Darashaw Mehta, Jehangir Damania, Jehangir Mehta.
Shivlal Daga, Ashwin Mehta, Gulamhusein Vahanvaty, Asif Lampwala, Hoshang Nazir and Dilip Goculdas form the Board of Appeal.
RWITC has been unable to conduct horse-racing due to the pandemic since March and it appears that the monsoon racing season at Pune will be washed out as the club is yet to receive permission from the state government.
