NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has allowed the All India Carrom Federation (AICF) to conduct the 45th National junior championship in Nagpur from January 28 to 31, as scheduled.
The Supreme Court had, on January 4, stayed the order of the Division Bench of the Delhi High Court that had revived the functioning of the AICF, with a full-fledged judgement, The Hindu reports.
“This is an application for one time exemption from the order dated 04.01.2018 passed in the special leave petition to the extent of allowing applicant to conduct the event titled ‘45th Junior National and Inter-State championship, to be held from 28th January to 31st January 2018 at Nagpur’,” the Supreme Court order issued by Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, and Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, accessed by the daily, reads.
The Supreme Court also ruled that “the applicant shall permit the petitioner-player to participate in the competition and also other States which have not been invited to participate.”
Meanwhile, the original case of the AICF with the Delhi High Court, challenging the Union government order as arbitrary and against the course of natural justice was to be heard Wednesday.
