MUMBAI: Sri Lanka Cricket has made an officiall complaint to the International Cricket Council over the polluted conditions under which their players were forced to play the New Delhi Test.
Sri Lanka’s sports minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said the country’s cricket board made the complaint on Tuesday to the ICC, and has been quoted as having said “we can’t play like this as four players had vomited” due to the pollution.
Jayasekara said the ICC had informed them that it will take “necessary steps”. Adding severe pollution as valid grounds for disallowing play to the rule book would be a step that should get universal support (bullheaded comments and actions from many worthies in the BCCI’s power structure notwithstanding).
