Sony, DD to broadcast ISSF World Cup in India

NEW DELHI: The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2019, which is set to take place in the Indian capital city from 21 February, is all set to split its broadcasting rights in India with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) and Doordarshan beginning with the rifle and pistol competitions.

The development was confirmed by National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) President Raninder Singh a press conference arranged by the federation on Saturday.

Singh added that Sony will be the official broadcasters of the event across the Indian sub-continent and SAARC countries. It is likely to be showcased in 60 countries as the ISSF is in the process of scouting broadcasters across various continents.

In a major revelation, the NRAI chief declared that all subsequent shooting World Cups will be televised and attempts are being made to replicate the same with all marquee national events.

The ISSF World Cup 2019 has confirmed the participation of 498 athletes from 58 countries.
