SONY LIV is set to launch ‘Real Kashmir Football Club’, a stirring new series that brings to life the extraordinary story of how two men created Kashmir’s first professional football team. At its heart, the show is about resilience, courage, and the power of sport to unite a community.
The drama is inspired by the journey of the Snow Leopards, who overcame daunting challenges to become the region’s first professional side promoted to the I-League, just two years after being founded in 2016. More than footballing success, the story highlights how the club gave people in Kashmir “something new to believe in”—from the energy of packed stadiums to the hope that the game could transform lives.
Directed by filmmakers Mahesh Mathai and Rajesh Mapuskar, the series features Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Manav Kaul, and Abhishant Rana in pivotal roles. Produced by Jaya Entertainment and Oshun Entertainment, Real Kashmir Football Club blends on-pitch drama with intimate storytelling, capturing both the intensity of competition and the deeply personal journeys of ambition and belonging.
The teaser has already been released, though the official streaming date is yet to be confirmed.
