Sony localizes NBA’s ‘This is Why We Play’ promotional campaign

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), the official broadcasters of the NBA in the country, have launched the league’s global promotional campaign ‘This is Why We Play’ to promote its weekly show ‘Saturday Morning Live’ which is aired at 8.30 am on the Sony Ten 1 and Ten 3 channels.

Sony’s two promos of 33 and 34 seconds each, feature the likes of Indian actor-cum-VJ and basketball evangelist, Ranvijay Singh, Youtuber Bhuvan Bham and stand-up comedian Abish Mathew promoting the NBA by exuding the excitement the league provides.

The highlight of these is the imitation of the signature moves and celebrations of stars such as James Harden, Stephen Curry and LeBron James. It is well accompanied by crowd shots across the arenas as well as the enthusiasm of Indian fans catching all the action either on television or their smartphones.

Sony’s marketing campaign has been made visible not just on its own channels but all NBA-owned digital channels, entertainment and music channels across social media, television and the internet as well as OOH in several metro cities.
