SONY PICTURES NETWORKS INDIA (SPNI) has reverted to its original corporate identity, retiring the Culver Max Entertainment name.
The company is now identified as “Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited (formerly known as Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited)”, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation.
The network implemented this strategic rebrand across its digital presence, corporate profiles, and legal disclosures to closely align with the global branding of its parent company, Sony Group Corporation.
The transition is part of a broader repositioning to align the Indian business with Sony Pictures’ global ecosystem, internally viewed as a shift toward a diversified entertainment company spanning television, streaming, sports, digital media, and content production.
For the record, it was just over four years ago (in April 2022) that SPNI’s official company name was changed to Culver Max Entertainment.
SPNI operates 29 channels including Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB, Sony MAX, Sony Sports Network, and Sony BBC Earth, alongside Sony LIV. The network reaches over 700 million viewers in India and operates in more than 150 countries. Gaurav Banerjee serves as MD and CEO. The transition also coincides with an expansion into southern regional markets, with Rajaraman Sundaram elevated as Chief Content Officer, South.
