FANCODE, THE COMPOSITE MEDIA rights holder for the 2025-26 season of the Indian Super League, has reportedly reached a “verbal agreement” with Sony Sports that will see the ISL televised on the network.
Per Sportstar, while “the paperwork for the deal is yet to be signed, it is only a matter of time before it gets the official seal of approval”.
Sony, which had joined the pre-bid conference on January 23, ended up not submitting any bid, which FanCode ultimately one after committing for Rs 8.62 crore. The next highest bid of Rs 5 crore was submitted by incumbent rights holder JioStar.
FanCode, owned by Dream Sports, will stream the league and has released three kinds of passes: a season pass for Rs 299, a team pass for Rs 149 and a match pass for Rs 25.
Sportstar further reports that Sony Sports has also had preliminary talks about broadcasting the 2025-26 season of the I-League, which is scheduled to begin on February 21.
Sony had broadcast the last season of the I-League from the second matchday, as too the Durand Cup last year.
The ISL season is set to kick-off on February 14 with Mohun Bagan Super Giant taking on Kerala Blasters.
