SONYLIV HAS ROPED IN Prashant Iyer, most recently director, marketing, at Netflix, as its head of marketing, multiple reports have confirmed.
During his eight-year tenure at Netflix, Iyer rose to the position of director of marketing, overseeing brand and social media strategies. In that period, Netflix India’s social media presence telescoped from 500,000 to over 55 million followers.
Iyer also worked on more than 250 campaigns across titles, brand and partnerships, and was part of the leadership team overseeing revenue and subscription growth.
As the director-level lead for social marketing across the Asia-Pacific region, he exerted substantial regional influence, overseeing a combined follower base of more than 200 million.
Before Netflix, Iyer worked at Nike, handling digital brand commerce and account management, including Myntra. He began his career at Titan Company in brand and digital marketing roles.
Iyer’s appointment comes at a strategic time for Sony LIV as it seeks to strengthen its brand identity and capture a larger share of the digital streaming audience through aggressive content marketing and subscriber engagement.
