KOCHI: After serving out a lengthy ban of seven years, former India pacer S Sreesanth is set to make his return to competitive cricket with the President’s T20 Cup in his home state Kerala.
The President’s T20 Cup is to be played in Alappuzha.
Kerala Cricket Association president Sajan K Varghese confirmed Sreesanth’s participation to Sportstar, adding for good measure that the right-arm pacer would be the star attraction for the tournament.
“Yes, definitely. Sreesanth will be an attraction. Every player will be in a bio-bubble in one hotel in Alappuzha. We are looking at the first week of December. The clearance from the Kerala government is the main thing,” he told the publication.
For the record, Sreesanth seven-year ban ended in September.
A member of 2007 T20 and 2011 World Cup-winning teams, Sreesanth has played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is. While the chances of him making an India comeback are non-existent, he could make a return to the Indian Premier League IF any franchise chose to bid for him. Again a good as non-existent possibility.
