MUMBAI: After the exhilarating season of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) and Hero I-League, Indian football fans now have an opportunity to cheer for their favourite teams in the upcoming Hero Super Cup – a tournament that will see the best of I-League and ISL teams starting March 31 across the Star network.
Super Cup, a first of its kind knockout tournament will be broadcast in English (Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 HD), Tamil (Star Sports1 Tamil), Bangla (Jalsha Movies), Kannada (Star Suvarna Plus) and Malayalam (Asianet Movies) across six channels.
A Star India spokesperson said, “ISL and I-League have given Indian football fans many reasons to celebrate the beautiful game and the recent success and competitiveness of both the leagues in India is an indicator of India’s ever-growing love for football. For the first time, Star will broadcast the Hero Super Cup in five languages which will enable football fans across the country to enjoy their favourite game in their favourite language.”
India’s leading sports broadcaster – Star Sports is the premier destination for football fans in India with telecast rights of Indian as well as international football properties such as Hero Indian Super League, Hero I-League, Premier League, German Bundesliga and now the Hero Super Cup is the latest addition to this star-studded line-up.
Star Sports bought the live telecast of qualifiers of the tournament that kicks off on March 31, 2018 live from Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar. The tournament will also be telecast live on Hotstar.
