MUMBAI: Sundar Raman, Reliance Industries Limited CEO – Sports Division, has stepped down from his executive role in RIL, but remains associated with the Mukesh Ambani controlled industrial conglomerate in an advisory capacity, Mumbai Mirror speculates.
The daily quotes an “internal mail circulated recently among top officials at RIL” as stating that Raman would only continue in an advisory role in Reliance Sports.
When contacted on the reported development however, a RIL Sport spokesperson told SportzPower the company had no comment to offer on the matter.
Raman also outright dismissed the report as having no substance.
Raman, who joined RIL in November 2015, was chief operating officer of the Indian Premier League before joining RIL.
Raman, who was appointed as IPL COO from the league’s inception in 2008, was roped in for the position by former IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi in January 2008.
Before his IPL tenure, Raman was managing director of Mindshare India, a division of advertising media company GroupM.
