NEW DELHI: The Indian “tradition” of politicians controlling sports bodies was again on show Wednesday as the Table Tennis Federation of India unanimously re-elected Haryana’s deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala for another four-year term as president at the TTFI AGM held in Panchkula.
Pertinently, for all the 22 posts for which elections were held, the house vote was unanimous.
Among the unanimous decisions taken by the house, Dhanraj Choudhary was named chief executive officer (CEO), MP Singh takes over from Choudhary as advisor, and VK Bawa will be the chief financial officer, Sportstar reports. For the post of secretary, Singh made way for Arun Banerjee while Gurpreet Singh became the treasurer, a post vacated by Banerjee.
