MUMBAI: WBO Super Middleweight Asia Pacific champion Vijender Singh says he will soon launch his own company – Vijender Singh Promotions.
The new outfit will sign young promising talent on for pro-boxing. “They will train at my academy. If all goes well, pro-boxing will spread further in India,” Singh told Outlook magazine.
Singh, who was being promoted by IOS Boxing Promotions along with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, terminated his agreement with Queensberry Promotions in May this year, as he claimed the company was not honouring and delivering their contractual obligations for more than a year.
Singh continues to work with IOS Boxing Promotions, which promoted his last bout this month where he secured the WBO Asia Pacific Super MiddÂleweight and the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight belts.
The Olympic Bronze medallist has won all nine bouts that he has fought as a pro boxer since he turned professional in 2015.
