MUMBAI: Indian captain Virat Kohli’s star continues to be on the ascendant. A recent Forbes report pegs his charge per Instagram post at $500,000 (Rs 32 million), putting him on par with Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo.
Kohli has been consistently active across social media platforms, engaging with fans with his personal and professional updates. The The 29-year-old has an Instagram following of over 15 million users, with 20 million followers on Twitter and over 36 million on Facebook. Reports estimate that for 2017, Kohli’s brand endorsement contract was reportedly worth $22 million (Rs 1.41 billion), with $19 million (Rs 1.22 billion) coming through endorsements alone.
Kohli is the only Indian included in Forbes’ list of the top 100 highest paid athletes this year, at the 88th spot. Kohli was also included among the most marketable athletes of 2017, pegged even higher than Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
