WPL ’25: Vadodara, Lucknow venues; kick-off early Feb: Report

The third edition of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) will reportedly kick off in early February across two venues – the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara and the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to formally inform the five franchises about the venue and the schedule of the tournament, Sportstar reports that the 2025 edition of the WPL is likely to begin on the 6th or 7th of February.

Like last year, the tournament will be held in a caravan format – Lucknow hosting the first leg, followed by Vadodara, which will also host the final, expected to be played on March 9.

Per Sportstar, the fixtures are likely to be released by next week.

“Since there will be 23 games, it will be held in two venues. The idea is to spread the game across the country,” a BCCI source told the magazine.

In 2023, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai hosted the entire tournament, whereas Bengaluru and New Delhi were the hosts last year.
