ZEE, Baseball United ink multi-platform broadcast partnership for India

ZEE ENTERTAINMENT ENTERPRISES (ZEE) has announced a broadcast partnership with Baseball United, the professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and South Asia.

As part of the collaboration, ZEE will broadcast Baseball United’s inaugural season, featuring 21 professional games played at the Baseball United Ballpark in Dubai, live across India this November and December. The matches will stream on Zee5 and air across three of ZEE’s prominent television channels: Zee Café SD, &Flix SD, and &Pictures HD, with commentary available in both English and Hindi.

Season One will showcase Baseball United’s four founding franchises: Arabia Wolves, Mid East Falcons, Karachi Monarchs, and Mumbai Cobras, India’s first-ever professional baseball team featuring six Indian players alongside international stars.

The partnership also includes exclusive digital content on Zee5, such as player profiles, ballpark highlights, ‘Baseball 101’ explainer videos, behind-the-scenes features, and a documentary on the league’s creation. ZEE will support the launch with an extensive four-week promotional campaign across its network, including teasers, branded integrations, and social media activations.

ZEE head – advertisement revenue, broadcast and digital Laxmi Shetty said, “At ZEE, we are committed to bringing world-class international sports to Indian audiences and establishing India as a global platform for sports consumption. With ILT20, we celebrated international cricketing talent, and now we’re expanding that vision by bringing professional baseball to India. India has a deeply entrenched bat-and-ball culture, and we are excited to introduce millions of sports fans to the speed, strategy, and spectacle of baseball. With Hindi and English feeds, we are building a foundation for the sport that will entertain fans and foster a passionate new fanbase.”

Baseball United co-founder, chairman, CEO Kash Shaikh added, “We are very grateful to announce this partnership with ZEE, one of India’s most iconic broadcasters. Their reach, relevance, and reputation make them the perfect partner to connect with fans across this great country. For the first time in history, Indian fans will have their own professional baseball team — with homegrown players to inspire them. We can’t wait for the Cobras to take the field on November 14.”
